One recent lawsuit highlights the potential risks of using AI in HR. In February 2023, Derek L. Mobley filed a putative class-action lawsuit against Workday Inc., a company that provides HR software. Mobley alleged that Workday’s AI systems and screening tools discriminated against him on the basis of his race, age, and disability.

For example, 13% of HR teams have already adopted chatbots, virtual assistants, or machine learning apps to deliver employee services, showcasing the early adoption of artificial intelligence tools.

On the other hand, some people see AI as more trustworthy and reliable than people, demonstrating trust issues within companies in this current work cycle.

(64%) of respondents trust robots more than their managers, as revealed by Oracle and Future Workplace’s research.
